| colouring tutorial: flower |

using adobe photoshop elements 4.0
translatable: just colour layers.
001. Crop your base to 100x100 pixels. Unless, you're like.. making a banner or something then crop it to whatever you're cropping it to.

002. Find that itty little circle that is half-black and half-white and select Hue/Saturation.
Set the saturation at -83 and nothing else.
003. Right click and duplicate that nifty little Hue/Saturation layer and set it to Hard Light. I set my opacity to about 90%. Settings vary depending on your image.
004. Right, so then a New Layer. Fill it with dc818a and set it to soft light. Again, mine was at 90% opacity.
005. Another new layer. Fill it with 89d3eb and set it to soft light. I set the opacity to 80%.
006. Go back to your base. Duplicate and Desaturate it. This is different from the Hue/Saturation layer you did earlier. Bring your desaturated base to the top and duplicate it again. Set the second desat-base to hardlight. Merge down. You should now have a single desaturated base: set it to Color Burn, 50% opacity.
007. New layer. Fill it with 052b5a and set to Exclusion at 50% opacity.
008. Yet another new layer. Fill it with e4bfb1 and set to Color Burn at 50% opacity.
009. Finally, add a new layer and fill it with black. Take a round brush at around 100px in size, I used to the color f87886, and place it on the black layer. Set it to screen.

| Simple KH2 Tut |

Here is a simple tutorial using Photoshop Elements 4.0, but is extremely translatable for possibly every Photoshop.

STEP 1-
Basically, I'll be starting out with this cropped image from Kingdom Hearts 2 of Kairi and Sora. Whoopee ^__^
Refer to this as the "BASE"
STEP 2- we'll take the BASE, duplicate it, and desaturate, but not completely. So if you have a DESATURATE option where it automatically desaturates the image to where it's totally black and white, try to manually destaturate it youself so there is color left. Place it ON TOP. This is what you have so far:
STEP 3- Take
THIS GRADIENT and place it ON TOP. Set it to SCREEN 100%. You should come up with this:
STEP 4- Add a new layer and fill it with
THIS COLOR. Set it to COLOR BURN 100%. It should look like this:
STEP 5- Duplicate the DESATURATED BASE from Step 2, place it ON TOP, and set it to SCREEN 100%. You should have this:
STEP 6- Take
THIS COLOR and place it ON TOP. Set to MULTIPLY 10%. The result should be this so far:
STEP 7- Take
THIS COLOR and place it ON TOP. Set to COLOR BURN 100%. It should look like this:
STEP 8- Feel free to add TEXT from this point on. What I did with my icon was I added the word 'DESIRE' in the font Print Clearly at size 16pt at OVERLAY 100% and positioned it on the image. Then, to make the text a bit more defined I duplicated the font layer and set it to OVERLAY 30%.
MY FiNAL RESULT came out like so:
